A day out in York

Every year, between Christmas and New Year, it is a family tradition to go to the lovely city of York for the day. We have afternoon tea, spend our Christmas money or gift cards, walk around the city and have dinner at Russells.
This year, I only bought a few things as I wasn't particularly looking to buy anything but a few bargains caught my eye...

Calendar £4.99 from Waterstones
Leggings £4.99 from the Disney Store
Rocket Bubble Bar £2.50
Snowcake Soap £2.91
Popcorn Lip Scrub £2.60
all from Lush

Here are some photos from the day:

Favourite Christmas Candles

I looove candles... especially Christmas scented ones. On the first of December we went to the local Yankee Candle store and stocked up on all their lovely festive scents.
Now there are lots of candle brands I'd love to try, but at the moment my favourite brand is Yankee Candle due to the large variety of scents and reasonable prices.
These are the candles I've been burning all over Christmas...

scent: cinnamon, cloves, pine, cedar and smoked firewood aromas.
(a little over powering if lit for a long time, however fills the room quickly with a warm and cosy festive scent)

right sampler: Red Apple Wreath
scent: sweet apples, cinnamon, walnuts and maple.

Glade: Spiced Apple
A traditional favourite of mine, I always get this candle. A festive treat at only £2-£3 and it smells really Christmassy.

(My Sister's)
scent: Christmas pines and festive fruits.
Lilyflame snow fall candle

 (My Mother's)
scent: "Capturing the special quietness that comes with the first snow of the year." (aww)

left: Christmas Tree (also my Sister's)
scent: pine and crisp eucalyptus
right: Christmas Eve
scent: warm hearth, sugared plums, and candied fruits.
I fell in love with the description of this candle. The scent reminds me of those traffic light lollipops and I only lit it on Christmas Eve; whilst wrapping presents by the Christmas Tree, during a bubble bath with my Christmas Eve bubblebar from Lush, and then finally before I went to bed with a glass of milk and mince pie for Father Christmas.

Lush Review: Winter Wonderland

This was a Christmas present from my mum (which I have already used on Christmas day, so the photographs are post-tried).
It's a great little gift that contains the deliciously smelling Snowcake Soap - a product I hadn't tried before and now in love with, and Dream Cream that promises to care and nuture skin in the cold winter.
I will definitely be repurchasing the items in the box!

Lush Review: The Melting Snowman

I saved this bath melt for a very special day, I was going to a family Christmas "sparkle party" where we all had to wear something sparkly to get us in the mood for the festive season.
Although he didn't create any bubbles, his vanilla oils and marzipan fragrance had my skin feeling soft and looking radiant for the party.
At only £1.95 for the little fella, I wish I'd have bought tonnes more for throughout January (here's hoping for some snow...)

I hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas, here are some snaps of mine...
