What's In My Bath? Lush : Holly Golightly

Is there anything in this world more lovely than a Lush Christmas bubble bath?!
The Holly Golightly Bubble Bar is quite possibly the most Christmassy thing I've ever set eyes on. It's sparkly, smells like cinnamon & spicy clove, and turns the water a gorgeously festive deep green...

This is one of my very favourite Lush products and I just wish I'd have bought more! Although half was more than enough, so I still have the other half to beat those January blues and have a very merry Post-Christmas

What's In My Bath? Hot Toddy & Cinders

This week's post is only a little one, not a particularly exciting bath, but a very cosy and warming one indeed...
I started with the Hot Toddy shower gel to create some lovely bubbles, then added the Cinders bath bomb which fizzed and crackled away. The warm water turned a very calming dark yellow and as the bath bomb and popping candy made sounds of a crackling fire, the delicious scents of cinnamon and spice filled the air and made me feel extremely warm and cosy.
Perfect pairing for a cold winter's night.

❅Chester Winter Wonderland ❅

At the weekend I had the most lovely start to Christmas with my family. My mum, sister, boyfriend, my little cousin and I went to the Chester Winter Wonderland for the afternoon, we went ice skating, drank hot chocolate and went for a lovely walk around the Christmas Markets in the City Centre.
I don't usually like to start getting excited about Christmas until the 1st December, but this weekend really put me in the festive mood!

Do you have any early Christmas traditions?

What's In My Bath? The Wizard ♥

I'm obsessed with 'What's In My Bag' videos/blog posts (probably because I've extremely nosey!) and I also love a good pamper night on a Sunday evening. So I thought I'd combine the two ideas into a weekly post. 'What's In My Bath' will be a weekly feature on my Instragram, and then I'll write a little review on my blog about what products I used and what I thought about them.
Today's post is going to be discussing the adorable bubble bar 'The Wizard' from Lush...

I'd really love it if you joined in with me by sharing what's in your bath each Sunday night, either on Instargram or Twitter! You can use the hashtag #whatsinmybath if you like

A Perfectly Lovely Autumn Day ♥

I had the most wonderful afternoon with my mum today, we chatted about Christmas over hot chocolate and cake, went for a stroll through the park, and bought the cutest little pumpkins on the way home.
It was by chance that I had my camera with me to capture some beautiful moments from our day...
Don't you just love days like this?

October Wish List ♥

I know, I know, I certainly don't need to be buying any more this month. (Especially after my shamefully large Autumn Haul which you can watch here). But October is one of my favourite months, it's so cosy and the colours are beautiful. Plus, the next couple of months are spent lovingly buying gifts for everyone else so I think October should be dedicated to spoiling yourself!
Here's what I want this month:
(can we just take a moment to appreciate the totally adorable name of this pattern?

Is there anything you're lusting after this week?

LUSH Haul | Autumn/Halloween Collection

I mark the beginning of every season with a trip to Lush, and this years Autumn/Halloween collection is particularly lovely. There's just something so wonderful about filling your basket full of sparkly, cinnamon-scented treats that instantly makes you feel cosy and excited for sunday nights of pampering and Downton Abbey.
I kicked things off with 'The Wizard Hat' which, shamefully, I had to admit was a gift for myself.
It contains 3 of the Halloween products: the Wizard bubble bar, the Sparkler bath bomb and the Star Light Star Bright bath melt. This adorable gift is £13.25 and would make a fantastic treat for any Harry Potter fans that might have a birthday coming up! Inside contains:

The Wizard Bubble Bar £3.25
Possibly the cutest bubble bar ever from Lush (competing against the Mumkin and Penguin), I'm not sure if it's supposed to be an actual wizard or just his hat... but he's absolutely adorable. He smells like lavender, juniperberry and fennel essential oils - so he's super calming and ultra relaxing. I can't wait to use this one!
Sparkler Bath Bomb £3.50
WOW! I was told to let this be a suprise, but I couldn't help take a sneaky peak of the demo in store. I won't spoil the suprise - but expect glitter, stars and a real shimmering display!
Star Light, Star Bright Bath Melt £3.50
I've never used a bath melt from Lush before, but this one sounds truly wonderful... "Crush this shimmering star under running water and watch as your bath turns a deep, calming turquoise and the silvery sparkle spreads to create a magical, shimmering trail of starlight." I think this is going to be such a treat!

I also bought a few of the other Autumn/Halloween products...

The Sparkly Pumpkin £3.50
WARNING! Glitter Overload!! My hands were all orange and glittery after picking this up, so I think this is going to be perfect to use on Halloween before going to a party. This is new for this year (the usual pumpkin bubble bars had a little face and hat on - very cute) but this is super glamorous and smells really energising.

Northern Lights Bath Bomb £3.50
Again, this is going to be a real display in the bath. I'm actually quite the star-gazer at heart, so I immediately fell in love with this bath bomb when I saw it (I'm told it's filled with tiny silver stars). I love that this bath bomb is jasmine and ylang ylang scented, so it's going to be ultra relaxing and calming. I think this is my favourite product I bought and I'm going to save it for a special occasion.

Cinders Bath Bomb £2.50
One of my favourites from last year, this is a really cosy and snuggly bath bomb that fills the bath with a heart-warming scent of cinnamon and almond oil. It's only £2.50 too so I don't feel guilty popping the whole thing in, I actually had a cinnamon scented bubble bath which I'd use also! The popping candy crackles in the water so it recreates the warmth of the hearth.

Lush also had all of their wonderful Christmas products in also, which was really hard to avoid! But I have a rule not to buy anything Christmassy until November so that I can enjoy Autumn without rushing it.
So I'm going to have a real pampering month throughout October because the 1st of November I'm going to go and fill my basket again!

Have you tried any of the Halloween collection at Lush? Which is your favourite?

Alexa Chung X Nails Inc Review

I've had a girl-crush on Alexa Chung since 2008 and have pretty much followed her career/bought every magazine she has graced. The problem is, she usually models for high-end brands and her past collaborations have only been available in the U.S. (Although I did go a bit mental last Christmas when she released a range for Eyeko - my review and tutorial here).

So when she became the face of Nails Inc, and designed her own collection of nail polishes, I was very excited.

I had never tried a Nails Inc polish before - but hear great things about the colour range and formula.
I popped into the Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar in Liverpool (gorgeous store) and went directly to the concession. The lady tried a few colours from the collection to see which I liked best.

The collection itself is made up of 6 colours - named after, and representing, different fabrics and textures : Lace, Sequins, Silk, Cashmere, Camo and Leather.

I went for Cashmere & Silk, which I thought were perfect for Autumn.
Alexa Cashmere is a gorgeous matte effect, mink shade polish. Fused with teeny-tiny pearls to provide a subtle sheen and a luxurious Cashmere texture. It's a really luxurious colour and reminds me of a snuggly sweater.
Unfortunately I had a problem with this chipping on the first day, but I think that's because I have quite a "hands on" job and didn't use a top coat.
It's so lovely for Autumn/Winter and has already been awarded "Best Beige Polish" by Glamour magazine and is part of the Beauty Power List.

Alexa Silk is equally as stunning, it is a smooth and rich shade of black, complimented by a fine pearl which flows through the polish like silk. I don't usually go for black nail polish, but I thought this looked quite special.
I really enjoyed using both of the nail polishes, the handle is very easy to control and the brush is quite wide enough to coat almost the full nail, yet avoids mistakes. This didn't chip for 4 days despite not applying a top coat. And I was really impressed with how easily it was removed. Quite often with darker shades of any branded nail polish, it can stain the nail but this didn't.

Each of the Alexa nail polishes are £15. I think I might pop back before Winter arrives; Lace would be so beautiful for Christmas.

I also made a YouTube video about the collection, if you would like to see my applying the polishes:
