Chester Performs : The Secret Garden ❀

Last Wednesday was my 25th birthday, and to celebrate my family & I went to see a splendid performance of The Secret Garden (a childhood favourite) at the beautiful Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre.

It was a perfect English Summer's evening, made even lovelier with the setting sun, slight warmth yet gentle breeze and the stunning set. We arrived an hour early (as you do) for a picnic, which I was very excited to debut my new picnic basket filled with Cath Kidston picnic wear - a birthday present from my boyfriend. I was pleasantly suprised to receive a complimentary souvenir programme and bottle of chilled prosecco upon arrival at the box office - a birthday treat from the company! How lovely?

We sat on the Picnic Terrace which gave us a lovely overview of the set, but you can reserve Picnic Spaces on the lawn or even VIP Deckchairs! I would advise to take lots of cushions and blankets so that you're comfortable for the perfomance, and perhaps even an umbrella (as it is England, after all!).
The performance itself was just perfect, I'm not a drama critic or have an relevant experience reviewing a play - so I'm not going to pretend to! But it was just delightful, and very enjoyable to all members of family, young and old.
During the interval we enjoyed fresh strawberries & cream with our special bottle of prosecco. And as the sun started to set, the audience began to snuggle under blankets to enjoy the end of a wonderful perfomance.

“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”

❀ Glastonbury 2014 ❀

This year's Glastonbury Festival was probably one of my all-time favourites, mostly because this year it was just my boyfriend & I. We got to see some of our favourite bands, some which we'd never seen together before and some we had (which brought back some lovely memories).

The sun was shining early on which set a glorious mood for the festival, and only rained for a small portion, which set a rather muddy bed for the weekend.

Our little routine is to head down to the Greenpeace showers every single morning, which makes the world of difference to your festival experience. Then we have breakfast at the Greenpeace cafe and then head off to explore the rest of the site and all it's wonders.

We have our favourite food spots, which includes - Greenpeace Farmer's Market, Pizza To The People, Anna Mae's Mac & Cheese, and the Tea & Toast Van.

I filmed 2 videos whilst at Glastonbury...
