The Monthly Playlist : May

May is being a bloody great month for music! For the first week I moved into my new flat in Manchester I had no internet connection - and as a result, listened exclusively to records (mostly my Record Store Day loot). It's also been packed full of live music - The View & The Kooks brought back some nostalgic tunes and the crowning jewel being the Cabbage, Blossoms and Courteeners gig on the 27/5.
I'm also really excited to see Seu Jorge play at the Albert Hall on the 25/5. He played on the soundtrack to Wes Anderson's 'The Life Aquatic' and is performing on a special set on stage, with a showing of the film afterwards. His adaptations of David Bowie's songs in Portuguese for the film is one of my favourite records ever - do have a listen.

Topshop SPRING Trend : The Daisy Tea Dress

The tea dress has always been a staple in my Spring/Summer wardrobe - a timeless and feminine classic; yet can be toughened up with a biker jacket and pair of ankle boots. Worn with sandals for picnics and afternoons at the beach, or a cardigan and pair of converse of those chilly British evenings.
I always look to TOPSHOP for my tea dresses (my favourite last year being the red daisy dress), as they add a cool and stylish element to such a traditional style dress.
This Spring I fell in love with the Daisy Print Ruffle Tea Dress, and it features two of this season's favourite trends: pink and ruffles.
The wrap around and side-tie detail adds a little interest to the pretty floral pattern and pale blush colour of the dress. And the floaty sleeves and hem creates a romantic and feminine look.
I have styled the dress with a biker jacket, black fedora and pair of converse to toughen it up; and the pastel lilac cross-body bag is an essential colour for Spring.
