The Christmas tree is out to be recycled, the decorations have been put away and the fairy lights taken down. I thought the best way to beat the January blues was to update a few interior furnishings and add a breath of fresh air to little spaces around my home.
Starting with my favourite cosy corner - my bedroom. I’ve always taken great pleasure in having beautiful bedding, and there’s no better feeling (IMO) than waking up on a weekend morning in fresh sheets and enjoying a coffee with a book. After all we spend a good portion of time in our beds, whether it’s catching up on well-needed sleep, having some down time reading or watching a film, or creating a comfortable space to research creative inspiration online and plan content.
Therefore I wanted my new soft furnishings to reflect my personal taste for interiors and my love of vintage design. I have been a fan of Orla Kiely and her beautiful patterns for most of my adult life, and I love the pop of retro charm that the delightfully bright and beautiful Summer Flower Stem duvet cover has added to my bedroom.
